Talking records were also an important part of the antique phonograph record era. These often were humorous stories, by Uncle Josh (Cal Stewart). Uncle Josh was a rube character from old New England. Big city life and modern inventions were always difficult for him. Elocutionist Len Spencer recorded both humorous and serious subjects. Some of these titles conclude with some pretty strange musical summaries. |
